IV Cannulae
Features
- Designed to insert in the patient's vein to give anaesthesia,
medicine or other solutions for intermittent drug therapy, infusion
or multiple fluid infusion.
- 100% safe: It can be used without risk of thrombophelebitis
because it is made of P.T.F.E. (Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene)
catheter, one of the most bio-compatible materials known to man.
P.T.F.E. has the lowest coefficient of friction and reduces the
chances of sticking to vascular walls.
- The P.T.F.E. catheter, designed and made with double tapered
formed tip and siliconised, offers lower resistance during
insertion, resulting in less trauma to the patient, avoiding fold
back.
- Air vented hub: The needle end is covered with a unique air
vented hub (fitted on Needle hub) resulting in a higher flow rate
and quick and easy confirmation of correct vascular access. It
avoids blood spillage and prevents formation of air bubbles.

This type of IV cannula comes with wings and an injection valve to
provide extra medication without pain. Specially designed cap on the top
prevents contamination when the valve is not in use.

Instruction for Use
PROVEIN I.V. CANNULA WITH P.T.F.E. NATURAL/ RADIO OPAQUE CATHETER WITH INJECTION VALVE WITH WINGS.
MATERIAL USED:
Radiopaque strip/Natural PTFE, PP,POM,EVA & Stainless Steal.
INDICATION:
Infusion of I. V. Solutions.
Intermittent Intravenous drug administration.
To maintain hydration and/or correct dehydration if patient is unable to take sufficient volume of oral fluids.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Product should not be used on patient with known hypersensitivity to any of the material used.
Administration of high viscous fluid.
Large blood transmission.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE:
Carefully select and aseptically prepare the site.
Select suitable size of cannula & inspect visually to ascertain that package is intact.
Remove cannula from sterile packing & remove its needle from cover.
Grip the cannula from protection provided on body & hub.
Perform venipuncture & check for flash back of blood in flash back chamber.
Advance the catheter in to the vein and simultaneously withdrawn the needle.
Withdraw the needle completely while pressing the just after the tip of catheter
into the vein & discard the needle in an appropriate container.
Connect to the I.V. Infusion set.
Cover the puncture site with sterile dressing.
Drug can be injected with the help of syringe without needle through integrated injection port after removing the port cap.
Pressure on the plunger of syringe during the injecting of drug should not be more
and movement of plunger should be smooth & regular.
Close the port cap thereafter.
Perform routine monitoring & venipuncture site maintenance according to medical norms.
CAUTION:
NEVER TRY TO REINSERT THE PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY WITH DRAWN NEEDLE.
DISPOSE OFF SAFELY AFTER USE AWAY FROM LIVING BEING.
